In the latest episode of *Mindset Matters*, hosts Patrick Francey and Steffany-Hanlen Francey dive into an array of compelling topics, beginning with a unique Olympic experience in Paris. Steffany recounts her time at the Summer Olympics, highlighting the emotional medal ceremony for athletes she coaches in figure skating. This ceremony was a long-awaited moment, occurring two years after the original event due to a scandal relating to another team that delayed the awarding of medals. Despite the challenging circumstances, the Paris Olympic Games provided a stunning and memorable backdrop for this special moment, which was celebrated in front of thousands, including the athletes' friends and families.
Steffany reflects on the importance of trust in the process and how her athletes maintained focus and positivity during the two-year wait. She emphasizes the critical role of mindset in navigating such uncertainties, reminding listeners that mindset is often more important than physical preparation. This experience reinforced her belief that leaving room for the "magic" of the unexpected can lead to powerful outcomes.
They also revisit last week’s conversation on generosity. They discuss how generosity, when not reciprocated or acknowledged, can lead to an imbalance in relationships, often resulting in resentment. The discussion extends to the dynamics of giving and receiving, noting how important it is to maintain a balance to prevent expectations from turning into dependencies.
The hosts also touch on the disparity between social media portrayals and reality, especially concerning the unrest in Paris during the Olympics. Despite reports of chaos, Steffany found the city calm and welcoming, a reminder that what we see online isn't always the full story.
Throughout the episode, the underlying message is clear: mindset truly matters, whether in sports, relationships, or navigating the complexities of life. Patrick and Steffany encourage listeners to be mindful of their perspectives, to trust the process, and to strive for balance in all areas of life.

In this episode of the Mindset Matters podcast, host Patrick Francey flies solo as Steffany is enjoying her time in Paris. Patrick begins by sharing his summer plans, including meeting Steffany in Montreal.
Patrick reflects on his and Steffany's natural inclination towards generosity and the unintended consequences it can sometimes bring. He emphasizes that their generosity, often given without expectation, can become normalized by the recipients, leading to an imbalance in relationships.
Patrick shares an anecdote about Steffany’s experiences as a coach, where she often provided guidance and support to friends without charging for her time. This led to a realization that her generosity was being taken for granted. Patrick draws parallels with his own experiences, highlighting the importance of managing expectations around generosity to prevent it from becoming an unappreciated norm.
He also discusses the complications that arise when financial generosity is mixed with personal relationships, cautioning against making emotional decisions without proper consideration. Patrick stresses the importance of being conscious about the extent of one’s generosity and ensuring that it is not taken for granted.
Reflecting on his own experiences, Patrick acknowledges that he too might have normalized the generosity of others without fully appreciating it. He considers reaching out to those who have been generous to him to express his gratitude and acknowledge their kindness.
As the episode concludes, Patrick invites listeners to share their own stories of generosity and expresses his hope that they are enjoying their summer. He looks forward to reconnecting with Steffany in the next episode and sharing more insights and stories.

Tom Karadza is Co-Founder of Rock Star Real Estate Inc. in Ontario that has worked with real estate investors since 2008 to help educate, inform and ultimately buy rental property across the Greater Toronto Area.
With a start in the software industry back in 1998, after a few years of being on the “technical” side of the business Tom decided to join the sales team. And he hit it out of the park in a big way! But he was miserable and felt like a cog in a big fat money machine.
With the guidance of an early influence, Dan Kennedy, Tom made the decision to become the master of his own life, his own rain maker, and the personal freedom that came along with that. He wanted to create his own business and live life on his own terms. This led to two things: real estate investing and a very serious study of marketing and sales.
Tom and his brother Nick decided to create their own real estate investing business and a real estate brokerage dedicated to investors. They started an investor program, “Income for Life,” in 2006 and then launched their own brokerage, “Rock Star Real Estate.” They wanted to start a brokerage “by investors, for investors” – so they did!
Dive into this episode, to hear more of Tom’s story from IT to Rock Star Real Estate, the influence of his immigrant parents and a contrarian mindset that informs his values and integrity and is at the root of how Tom operates both in business and personally. Tom shares how their company has evolved from operating exclusively in Toronto and the GTA to recently expanding (with the right team) to offer opportunities for real estate education and ownership in Florida. Exchanging the role of interviewer from time to time, Tom and Patrick talk about the powerful impact of meditation, personal integrity, economics, real estate markets, creative strategies, government policy, cryptocurrency and the value of creating positive culture in business.

In the latest episode of the Mindset Matters podcast, in Steffany's absence, host Patrick Francey interviews special guest Shelly Lefkoe, a transformational coach specializing in eliminating deep-seated beliefs that shape behavior and emotions. Shelly explains how unconscious beliefs, often formed in childhood, significantly impact our adult lives and limit our potential.
Shelly describes her late husband’s process, developed over 35 years ago, that identifies and eradicates these limiting beliefs. She highlights the distinction between patterns, such as procrastination or fear of public speaking, and the underlying beliefs that cause them. By addressing these beliefs, individuals can overcome unwanted behaviors and live more authentically.
The discussion delves into the nature of fear, particularly fear of failure and public speaking. Shelly explains that fear often stems from perceived threats to survival, like fear of rejection or criticism. By eliminating the beliefs that underpin these fears, individuals can break free from limiting patterns.
Shelly shares a practical technique for managing emotions by questioning the meaning we give to events, emphasizing that events themselves have no inherent meaning. By reframing these meanings, we can change our emotional reactions and reduce negative feelings. The episode underscores the importance of self-awareness and being conscious of our thoughts and beliefs as the first step toward meaningful change.
Tune in to this insightful episode to learn how to identify and overcome the beliefs holding you back from living the life you dream of.
